Professional Certificate in International Public Sector Accounting Standards
27th November - 1st December 2017, London, UK
International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) are independently developed, accrual-based accounting standards, widely considered to be best practice for the financial reporting of public sector organisations because they demonstrate the highest levels of quality, consistency and transparency.
The benefits of IPSAS are reason enough to consider their implementation. More accurate financial reports not only allow for better-informed decision-making, but also a more efficient use of resources and stronger understanding of revenue, expenses, commitments and financial risk. In addition, organisations that do not comply with IPSAS will find it increasingly difficult to work with inter-governmental organisations and donors, including but not limited to the UN, OECD, NATO, Council of Europe and the Commonwealth Secretariat, as such organisations require the comparability, harmonisation, transparency and accountability in financial reporting that the International Public Sector Accounting Standards provide.
Upon completion of this week-long course and subsequent successful completion of CMI written tasks, the candidate will be awarded a Level 5 CMI certificate in Management & Leadership, showing the CMI units achieved. The CMI is the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. The professional qualifications offered by the Institute are internationally recognised and sought after.
By the end of this course delegates will be able to:
